"I'll bring home the turkey if you bring home the bacon" Thursday July 17th 2008

Even though there doesn't seem to be a lot going on this comic, I think there's a lot to be read into it. It's a little revealing of both Sydney and Dawson's personalities in my mind. I think Dawson shows a sharper wit then you would've thought he had. Plus while he clearly has no respect for the fairer sex, he does have some sort of battle honor. On the other hand Sydney shows that she isn't about to be baited by Dawson's little jab and in the end it's Dawson who ends up losing his composure first. Will Syd really be able to kill Dave and Tom? You might find out next week!

I have beaten Metal Gear Solid 4 and the thing that got me most was that I was sad the whole entire story of Solid Snake was over. It's not like I want another game because I think Kojima has finished telling the story of Snake, but it's like wanting ore Harry Potter. You want it because the journey through it was so good, but anything more would ruin it. That being said I think 4 was an amazing game. The ending was really good too. It ended just like any great action flick should. Everyone just trying to survive and having the heroes back as he tries to accomplish their mission. And while the final fight wasn't amazing in terms of game play, I still loved the whole homage to the first 3 games going through it. Plus it really did convey the emotion of a final battle really well. Those last few punches were awesome. Plus they managed to throw in the Snake Eater theme and that's always a plus in my book. All in all I was very happy with the game and I'll probably end up playing through it again at some point and try and find all the stuff I missed the first time through.

There were other things I wanted to mention here, but as always I forget when the time comes to write these posts. I need to start writing these things down or jotting notes. I did draw this week's comic listening to the Blue Album and Pinkerton albums by Weezer. In case you wanted to know such things and why I used the Post heading I did. Rivers, you are one clever, clever dude. I got work till late tomorrow night so chances are I might not get to see Dark Knight till next week. If I do see it before the next comic I'll definitely post my thoughts on what is already turning into a ridiculous movie phenomenon. So have a great weekend everyone and I will see you next week!

River's Top 5 Game Endings As Requested By Dave
1. Final Fantasy (J:IV, US:II) (I'm convinced this is the best video game ending of all time)
2. Phantasy Star 2 (Best Genesis Ending)
3. Metal Gear Solid 3 & 4 (Best PS2 & PS3 Endings)
4. Legend of Zelda : Link to the Past (2nd Best Super Nintendo Ending)
5. NHL 04 (Best Sports Game Ending of all Time)
Worst. Shinobi (Not even a "The End"... Just the generic "Game Over" you get as if you died in the game. Combined with the fact this game was nigh impossible to beat this ending was like a slap in the face. My friend Mike spent most of a sleep over night doing it while the rest of us did other things.)

It's cause we're never meant to meet.
