"Fanart would be a great Birthday Gift!!" Thursday June 19th 2008

Well the comic is back and hopefully it looks pretty good. Like I mentioned before this was an extra scene written into the comic. The original script calls for a lot of this fight to take place off camera. I decided that was a poor decision and so I added this entire scene. There's more as you can imagine and I hope you enjoy it as it plays out over the next few weeks. I can't really say much else about the comic because while the action scenes are fun to draw and write, they are also kind of self explanatory. I think we can chalk it up to a minor miracle that neither Tom or Dave has broken their glasses yet. It's become a running joke for Rob to be expecting them to break.

As I mentioned last week I took the trip up to Syracuse to visit Rob and really to go eat a garbage plate at Tahou's. I was joined by Dave for the trip there and back. We got into Syracuse at around 10:30 or so and then ate dinner at Denny's. I think we played some PS3 when we got back to Rob's and then went to bed. We got up early the next morning and spent the afternoon hanging out. We ended up leaving for Rochacha and the Promise Land at around 9. The garbage plate was awesome like always and it was extra awesome because they always tend to be when you really need them. Did the Wegmans run afterwards and then got back to Syracuse around 2 and played Rock Band for the rest of the night. the trip back to the Island was uneventful besides the fact that Dave and I pretty much created the barebones plot for a Ice Hockey anime. I think the idea was actually really cool and we did what we could to hit all the notes you need to hit with sports stories as well as try and do something new or at least something not as something rarely done. Just letting you all know that the Icehawks would be awesome if it wasn't just in our heads.

I think that's about it really. I'm enjoying the PS3 experience so far. I'm almost done beating MGS3 and so then I can begin the awesomeness of MGS4. Rob got me a copy of Fatal Frame for my birthday (we gave each other gifts early since we couldn't hang out on our birthdays which will be this upcoming Sunday and Tuesday) so I'll have to start playing that this weekend as well. Which reminds me... Rob hooked me up with one of the most awesome birthday gifts ever... a wooden model of the Hyourinken! While it wasn't 100% finished, it was definitely made in the right proportions which is pretty good since Rob eyeballed it right from the comic. I'm hoping he can finish it in time for Otacon, because I am definitely equipping that sucker for the weekend.

Alright it's time I get to bed. I'm happy to be back with a real comic this week. Hope you all have a great weekend on River's Birthday weekend. Also like I mentioned in the title for this post, if you want to be super cool and awesome and want to give me a gift for my birthday then more than anything else I would be super excited by fanart. In fact if you were to ask me if I would rather get a PS3 game or a piece of fanart I would pick the fanart! See you next week everyone!!
