"ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT TO SIGN UP FOR THE BATTLE OF SPIRIT CONTEST!!!" Thursday April 10th, 2008

Phrew... It was a little tough to get back into the usual rhythm of making the comic after almost a month off from drawing a real one and not filler or poster work. It was fun though and I am pretty excited to get this chapter under way. I was actually going to open the chapter with a scene from the Fuzen, but when I added the last few comics to the last chapter, I changed my plans and opened with this scene. It starts off pretty slow and you better believe that it ramps up pretty quickly. For those of you waiting to see some sort of payoff between the relationship of Yuki and Key you are about to get some.

As for the drawings in this comic I have to say that everything came out pretty good. I like both Key and Yuki's new haircuts. Key's more than Yuki's I suppose. She's always kinda had more volume to her hair and I really toned that down for her current style. I hope everyone likes it... or you at least don't think it's horrible! As you can expect the gazebo was a bitch to do. I pretty much drew it from scratch using a picture of a real gazebo for reference. I think it ended up looking nice. I know I could probably have done a bit more to make it seem more "rainy" in the scenes, but this was the most I was prepared to do for the comic. It's one thing to spend mad time doing such things for a filler or one shot image and another thing entirely when you are doing 9 a week.

Let's move on to the Battle of Spirit contest. The deadline to enter is by the end of this upcoming Sunday so if you haven't done so, then go and fill out your entry form! The number of contestants is down this time as compared to the last Battle of Spirit. My hope is that it's because no one realizes or notices that there is a FREE contest about to happen for mad cool prizes. In fact I had been planning to save this for when the contest started, but I figure you might need some more incentive to enter this free contest. So here is a preview image of the Spirit 400 Limited Edition Poster...

Tell me that isn't a kick ass poster! The detail work on it is the best I've done for any of these posters and it should hold up well when you have it blown up to the size of a huge 34x28 inch poster. In fact I am going to rework the building lights before I order the poster that the Spirit 400 Contest winner will win so it should look even better! So don't delay folks. Enter the contest, have fun, and you even get a chance to win this cool poster!

Also be sure to check back here on Monday as the polls will open for the first battle in the Battle of Spirit IV! There will be one battle per day and you can vote once per battle. The voting will occur right on this page to make it easy for everyone. Check back in every day to vote for your favorite characters to ensure your favorite becomes the most popular Ninja Spirit character as voted by the fans!

I think that should pretty much wrap everything up for now. I hope you enjoyed the first real comic of Chapter 6 and I hope you all have a fun and relaxing weekend!!

River's Favorite 5 Weezer Songs
1. Keep Fishin (Demo Version) - The album version is good, but I love the demo version they released on the internet with the more pronounced "hoo hoo". Although I do like the intro of the album version more. Also Julia Nunes' ukelele version is my favorite cover version!
2. Butterfly
3. Island in the Sun
4. El Scorcho
5. The World Had Turned And Left Me Here

River says he can't wait to see who wins the cool prize!
