"Garbage Plates are the best!" Thursday November 1st, 2007

C'mon you didn't expect Joe to go down without a fight did you? I won't go too much into the explanation about Joe's new Counter Spiral just yet since I'll actually do a bit of explaining in the next comic. Although the source of power behind this technique was explained earlier in this chapter, just not to Joe or by Joe.

The last panel was one of those times when I was kind of sad that the power effects kind of obscure the line art and drawings I've done. The glow by Joe's abdomen was actually a LOT brighter, but I toned it down and brought up the line art a bit just to show off what I thought was a cool pose. I was hoping for a bit better dark and light contrast in P5, but I had to settle for what you see above. However despite all my nitpicking, I actually didn't have a panel where I thought I did a piss poor drawing. It's kind of rare because there's usually one panel where I'll look back at it once I'm done and be like what the hell was I smoking when I drew that? So pats on the back all around.

As you might have guessed from the above rant title and my rant last week, I did indeed go to Syracuse to grab my stuff from Kelly's. I picked up George, Michelle, and Colleen and we hit the road at 9:30 AM on Saturday. We reached Syracuse at about 3PM and with the help of everyone I managed to load up my car by 4 PM. We then met up with Rob and bought some cord to tie my skis down to my roof. After that I then drove out to Rochester. I completely lost all sense of time since the 4PM mark so all I can say is that it took us an hour and half to reach Tahou's. Michelle and Colleen had never had a Garbage Plate so that was good times. It was weird not having Tom there, but I think he was there with us in spirit. All in all I thought the plate rated about a 7.5 and as always that macaroni salad mixed with fries underneath those cheeseburgers was heavenly.

After Tahou's we made the trip over to Wegmans and did the usual route through the store. We left Wegmans at about 10:30 PM and we made the trip back to Syracuse. We got back to the Salt City at about midnight and then dropped Rob at his car. Then began the drive back to Long Island and thankfully Colleen and George split the trip by keeping me awake by talking to me the whole way back. Always good times to recount college and dek hockey stories. I finally made it back to my house at around 6 AM and promptly passed out till 4 PM on Sunday afternoon.

It was a fun trip and hopefully next time we make a long trip we'll have some more time to explore our surroundings. I do want to note that the Wegmans in Rochester was selling these new Snapple juice drinks. I bought all four flavors; Kiwi Pear, Peach Mangosteen, and two other I haven't tried yet. Do NOT get the Kiwi Pear. It's like drinking some diet flavored water. HOWEVER you HAVE to try the Peach Mangosteen. (The label describes the mangosteen as being the "queen of fruits".) I highly recommend it as it was delicious. I'm still pissed Snapple stopped making Kiwi Iced Tea, but this makes up for it.

Well that's it for now and I will see you cats next week.

River's Top 5 Bulk Candy
1. Imported Gummi Bears (Not to be confused with your standard gummi bears which are teh suck)
2. Gummi Cola Bottles (In close second to my love for Strawberry flavor is anything cola flavored)
3. Gummi Squiggles (I have only found these at Wegmans)
4. Jelly Belly jellybeans (My favorite flavors are in order KIWI, strawberry jelly, red apple, peach, and very cherry)
5. Swedish Fish (Not to be confused by JuJu Fish, which are disgusting)

River says he hopes you had a Happy Halloween!
