"I love the Nintendo DS"
Thursday October 25th, 2007
The action has indeed shifted back to the Joe and Caine fight. As
Caine has hinted at, he is able to gain immunities to his enemies
techniques as long as he sees them once. That is his Waza Kakkomu
technique that he mentions in the comic. So what does this mean for Joe?
You'll find out next week as we hit the middle of the Joe and Caine
fight.
As for the actual drawings for the comic I think I liked the way they
all came out except for P2 and P4. They just don't seem right.
Conversely the last panel looks pretty badass. Sometimes I think I tend
to go overboard on the FX for these powers and I like the subtle effect
of Caine's Gaeru Isshun Kyoushinshou. Originally the power was going to
have a more rounded path instead of the straigh zig zag you see up
above, but I liked the imagery of the sharp cuts of the chain. They
reminded me of both Andromeda Shun's attacks in Saint Seiya and also
brought up the image of a EKG line.
This past weekend the entire group of us went to Gasho to celebrate
Michelle's birthday. It's always a great time at Gasho and this was no
exception. Everyone had a great time and we had some great eats. I also
continue to thoroughly enjoy my Nintendo DS. I didn't think I would love
the touch screen aspect of it so much, but it's really the cat's meow. I
was playing through Phoenix Wright when Toys R Us tempted me with a buy
2 games, get one game free deal. So I went out and added Zelda, Mario
Kart, and Pokemon to the mix. I have never played any of the Pokemon
games and as of now I am hooked.
This weekend I am actually going to drive up to Syracuse on Saturday
to grab some of my stuff that I had left upstate. George, Michelle, and
Colleen all volunteered to come keep me company on the road trip. I'll
also get to see Rob for more than a half an hour this time and that's
awesome. I really want to get out to Tahou's as well since I really NEED
a Garbage Plate and I will have two Tahou virgins with me. Sadly the
initial trip to Tahou's and the very first garbage plate is a mixed
experience. Some people take to it right away like the unstoppable Tom
the Tire. I, myself, did not think it was anything special the first
time I went. Then a week went by and I suddenly I couldn't stop thinking
about the Garbage Plate. So hopefully they'll enjoy it right off the bat
because it'll suck to be 8 hours away on Long Island a week later and be
like "I really want a garbage plate... damn it!!"
Good times. I'll have to remember to eat my plate in honor of Tom who
is slaving away across the pond in bland food England.
Never Not Finish.
