"A lot of extra frills" Thursday October 18th, 2007

Phrew... this one took a lot of extra work than I normally need in a comic. I wanted to make the plant growth look good and the tree that held Dave was added in very late in the drawing stage and that made it a lot tougher to do everything. I am generally happy with the way everything turned out in this one and I really like the last panel. It looks cool and I think it conveys just the right amount of shock, pain, and disbelief that I think Dave would have been showing right when he found out the truth about Julienne.

The other thing that you may be confused about is what exactly happened to Dave? What was Kris's Major Evolution power? Some of you may have postulated that because of all the plants and the tree that Kris has the ability to control plants. He does in a way, but only indirectly. I'll actually explain everything in Chapter 6. However I think some to most of you should be able to figure it all out.

In other news I wanted to announce that I FINALLY purchased a Nintendo DS Lite which I have been not so secretly lusting after since I saw it in action during my Otakon 2007 trip. I actually got the whole Crimson/Black DS with the Brain Age bundle thing and I am pleased that I did. I had originally been very opposed to the dual color DS, but I have actually warmed up to it. I am enjoying Brain Age, but I swear to god I will kill whoever programmed this game to make me pronounce the word scissors... /Si/ zorz/. Maybe that's the way its supposed to be pronounced, but I have always pronounced scissors as /Si/ zerz/.

I actually broke down and got Cooking Mama and Phoenix Wright to round out my game collection and I have enjoyed each immensely. In fact I am going to get back to some Objection business when I finish writing this update. My friend Dave is currently vacationing in Japan right now and I'm hoping he can grab me a copy of Jump Ultimate Stars while he's over there. That would rock the loud house. I know I can get it on the internet, but getting it straight from Japan has to be a lot cheaper. I'm also looking forward to the Naruto RPG that comes out next week.
