"Potter" Friday July 13th, 2007

It's late, but I managed to get it done and thrown up on the web for all of you. It's basically setting up the last sequence of events in the Chapter. As you can see the heroes have decided to head back to the place where Chapter 3 came to an end. They are holing up in Kelly's old fortress on Crescent Moon Island in the hopes that Yuki will join them before they are found by the Fuzen. You should have your answer by Monday/Tuesday.

Joe, Tom, and even Dave are wearing pretty much their standard fighting garb. You finally get to see Key's gabr in the comic. I had drawn her in it in a filler comic last year, but this is the first time in-comic you get to see it. Also, Julienne is wearing a different outfit. You'll get to see more of both in future comics.

That's about it for the comic and so I will talk a little about the Boy Who Lived. I would give Order of the Phoenix about a B. The good points for the movie were that it condensed the book to movie form well. You never really miss the parts they skip out on and they still managed to stick a bunch of things into it. There were really three things that can be considered cons. First, the scene sequences were a bit jumpy due to the amount of different things they had to stick in the movie. It almost felt disjointed at times, but I think this is a minor thing. Second, the finale of the movie was too short. It didn't build up the final scene enough and when you finally got to it, it just felt rushed. Maybe it was the IMAX thing, but I just felt that if you added another 15 minutes to the finale of the movie, it would have been a lot better. Third, the music was lacking. I mean the Harry potter theme is always a little spine tingling and joyful to hear, but I don't think the music ever moved me enough during the final battle. Again this may have been more of a timing thing, but I think the music also didn't seem to convey enough of the sheer weight of everything going on. Again take that for what you will. I find it highly amusing that out of the movies that were to be coming out that everyone was looking forward to; Spiderman 3, Pirates 3, and Potter 5, it was the one movie that everyone thought was going to suck that ended up being the best of the lot in Transformers.

That's about it for now. Otakon is coming up next weekend and I will be heading down there with Dave and George. I plan to try and meet up with any NS fans who also might be going to Otakon. I'll have some more details about that next week. Till then have a sweet weekend.
