"The Say Hey Kid is the best Ball Player of All Time" Tuesday July 10th, 2007

Woo!! It's Tenko's first appearance in Chapter 5! Everyone's favorite Myobu Kitsune couldn't have popped in at a more opportune time. I had a line in the comic about how he had finally managed to lock on to Yuki's spirit after the latter had used his Mangetsu Hyou Ryu Ken, but it got cut for spacing issues. I was also going to have Masamune spout off a line about how if he was going to be working on the Hyourinken all night the least Yuki could do is keep it quiet between him and Sydney. Again spacing issues kept me from using that double entendre in the comic. More pressing matters such as the Hyourinken being repaired and the stipulation that Yuki can't use the Mangetsu till it cools down completely. Foreshadowing anyone?

With this comic over, we are now officially heading into the Chapter 5 conclusion. The Fuzen are about to make a move for the Yata Kagamina and it's up to Joe, Dave, Tom, and Key to keep it safe. After a bunch of probing attacks by the Fuzen, it's time for them to make their bold move against the heroes. I'll leave it up to your imagination for now on how that will go down.

There should be a comic on Friday and hopefully a normal 2 comics again next week before Otakon weekend. I went and saw Transformers on Friday and posted my long ass opinion about it on the NS Forum. I am going to go see Harry Potter tomorrow on Wednesday with my George and my brother and I'll let you know how that goes on Friday.

I did watch the All Star Game and am yet disgusted once again that the National League lost to the upstart American League. This is just getting embarrassing. I mean not as embarrassing as when the AL lost 11 times in a row, but it's one away from that debacle. I blame the fact that there had to be Dodgers involved. Such things never ever end well. I will say that I was kind of happy after the fact that Ichiro did hit a in-the-park homer. I mean I haven't ever seen one even on TV unless it was on a highlight so it was cool. Plus to see my favorite player do it made it better. Did I mention Ichiro was my favorite player? I think the only bad thing I can say about Ichiro is that he's not a Giant. I suppose he'll be my favorite player until Tim Lincecum becomes an All Star. Stratus's DBacks got to witness the Phenom in action about two weeks ago. She'll tell you how good his stuff is when it's working.

I loved the Willie Mays tribute in the beginning of the game. Being a Giant fan and really looking back and learning about their history gives you an immense feeling of honor knowing that the greatest ball player of ALL TIME played for your team. I mean I never saw him play, but if there was anyone I wish I could've seen play in their prime it would be the Say Hey Kid. I got goosebumps seeing him in centerfield and then seeing the banner  of "The Catch" being revealed. (As a side note, don't let football fans try and delude you by saying that the Catch involves some guy named Joe Montana.) It was all totally cool till somehow Derek Jeter got to help walk Willie Mays around. If it isn't a Dodger ruining things, it's a damn Yankee. Still it was an awesome scene and I was glad to have watched it, even if it was on the television.

That's about it for now and so I will see you all on Friday.
