"Countdown to Potter V1.0" Thursday July 5th, 2007

You didn't think Izumi would've left Yuki high and dry in this fight did you? Yuki had the Hyou~riken hidden for just this moment in the fight. As you can see it was an incomplete Go Shintai and was unable to handle the stress of a full fledged Mangetsu Hyou Ryu Ken. Like Sydney says, this fact alone kept her from being completely destroyed. I think the fact that Yuki used Izumi's  weapon to defeat her killer is a bit of poetic justice. This will be a fact that Sydney will not have escape her. Either way Yuki has defeated the devious Sydney for now, but he has let her escape. Will this be a good or bad thing?

I, like many of you, am starting to hit full fledged Potter mode. Order will come out next week and like every other Potter movie before it, I am expecting a kick ass movie. I was only disappointed once so I think 3 out of 4 is a pretty good track record. I will be going to go see the movie on Tuesday with George and his crew. Should be good times. The real countdown of course is for the Deathly Hallows. What I just realized like an idiot is that it comes out the weekend of Otakon. Does this mean that there will be people milling about Otakon with their head stuck in the book? My biggest fear is that I will end up getting spoiled during Otakon because some idiot. Theoretically I will be able to get the book and read it all the first night, but that will kill my night and make me fly through a book which I want to savor. Savor like a nice juicy steak. Mmmmmm. Damn you Otakon for being early this year!!

I hope all of you in the States and those of you who were formerly of the States had a great 4th of July and didn't explode or blow off any body parts lighting fireworks and firecrackers. I spent the night over at George's house for a BBQ. It was definitely a good time and thanks to his pagoda type thing on his back porch we were able to stay outside through the rain. The rain itself was only bad right when we busted out the projector to play Guitar Hero II on the side of George's house. It was a very surreal experience to play GH II on such a huge scale with rain pouring all around you and the wind blowing in your face. Good times.

Have a good weekend all and be here next week when we'll do a little wrap up in Japan before we hit the final part of the chapter and head back to the states.

PS - I got the two Paramore albums and enjoy them thoroughly. I pretty much finished this music listening to them both non stop. I wouldn't say they were great, but I definitely like most of the songs off both albums. Right now I prefer All We Know is Falling, but I can see myself liking Riot! better in a week or two.

.

River says congrats to Joey Chestnut for beating the great Kobayashi.
