"Happy Birthday to Mama Daniels!"
Tuesday May 22nd, 2007
I hope you enjoyed today's comic. I was of the mind that most people
would've guessed VanBrocklin was Wrath, but I had a bunch of people put
up a good case for Wrath turning out to be Jules. In the end though, it
was the Kawasaki High School superstar who's career was derailed by Tom
Brisket. Is Dawson really petty enough to seek the destruction of
mankind because Tom kicked his ass in football? Maybe. If you know me
though by now, you'll know that I wouldn't cheese out on you like that.
What you know for sure is that Dawson VanBrocklin is obviously here to
kick ass and chew some bubblegum and he's so very out of bubblegum. Tom
can't catch a break can he? If it's not one guy gunning for his neck
it's another...
This fight will continue next Monday/Tuesday as there will be no
comic on Thursday/Friday due to Rob coming down from Syracuse to visit
me here on the Island which is Long. It should be fun times indeed. Not
fun times for all of you since you won't have a comic so I apologize.
I'll let you know how our adventures go this weekend in the next comic
update.
A few announcements I wanted to pass along... my friend Kris is
expecting his first child soon and I wanted to say congrats to the man
and his family. Even though he's an A's fan, we're pretty tight and I'm
happy as hell for him since he went through a similar experience I went
through around this time last year. Unlike me though he managed to get
through it, find a wonderful girl, and then start a family. So much luck
to him and his clan of kids who's arms are their legs and their legs are
their arms.
I also wanted to wish my moms a Happy Birthday. She got a cell phone
for mother's day and a porcelain dog for her birthday. This is my family.
And here is a new webcomic I just recently found if you are
interested in such things. Candi
is a nice slice of life college comic. I just think it's clever and
well written. Despite some of the obviously crazy hijinks these kids
find themselves in, a lot of the humor rings true if you've been to
college and lived in some shared housing unit. I'm not saying it's the
next MacHall, but it is an enjoyable read and very clever at times.
Also I'm not sure if I like the new Avril album. It's a fair bit
different in tone compared to her first two albums. I'm going to hold
off judgment for a few more weeks because sometimes these albums need
to grow on me like NFG's Coming Home. One thing that I need to mention
is the song "Everything Back But You". All I can say is that if you
wanted to know what Sum 41 would sound like if Avril was the lead singer
and not Deryck, you now have your answer. From the opening pop punkish
riff to the punctuated-shouted chorus part screams Sum 41. I'm not
saying it's a bad thing, just pointing it out is all.
I think that's it for now. I will now let you resume with your week
in progress and will see you next week. Have a great Memorial Day
weekend for all of you in the States.
