"Bloody hell..." Thursday May 10th, 2007

I apologize for the no comic on Monday. Working a 13 hour shift will mess up your week like there's no tomorrow. It's more the physical demands rather than anything else. I mean I've had jobs where I work 13 hours in a row, but man does bartending whip your ass to do it that long in a row and then have to get up first thing and do it again. All I can say is that I was dragging as bad as I have ever been this past Monday. The best I could do is do some forum work and then pass the hell out.

At any rate, enough with the excuses... it's time for Kentan to shine. The Honou Shugeki Ken is a very powerful technique and one that Kentan saw used when he was a monk at the Temple of the Rising Sun. The only powers that probably top it in terms of Spirit output are the Burning Phoenix, the Mangetsu Hyou Ryu Ken, and the Kokuhyou Ryu Maken. The outcome to be shown next week where there will definitely be a Monday/Tuesday comic because I am working a normal week.

I went on for a long winded cry of disappointment in the NS Forums about Spiderman 3. I guess my complaint is mirrored by most movie critics and I think that might be a first. Usually movie critics are overcritical of comic book movies because they expect them to be these great  movies when really as long as they hit a few key points and include good special effects you're going to be entertained. Who really cares how good people are in the movie? It's not like we're expecting Jurassic Park or Pirates of the Caribbean CotBP. However Spiderman was one of those rare comic book franchises that went above and beyond simple entertainment and turned out two very good, possibly great, movies. So when you put out a final movie that by all accounts should be just as good as Pirates or Jurassic and churn out a Batman Forever or Fantastic Four, then well I think we can chalk that up as a major disappointment.

However, I think I'm over my disappointment at Spiderman 3 and am now looking forward to Harry Potter 5. There will be a few good movies before then such as 24 Weeks Later opening tomorrow, but I know the one movie I will have to positively go see is Potter. Of course by then I will know how the story ends and what a glorious day that will be when the Deathly Hallows comes out.
