"Just a Blah Week" Thursday February 22md, 2007

Sorry everyone for not having a comic up on Monday. There was a bunch of stuff going on and I apologize. I could have really pushed to get it done so I won't lie and say I couldn't get it done. I was just kinda feeling blah all week and so everything has been taking a back seat really. I think the thing that got me back up and motivated was giving the Coming Home album from New Found Glory another spin. I do love the NFG and I was kinda disappointed in the new album when it came out. I haven't listened to it since I bought it months ago. I figured I could use a little pep up and NFG has always been able to do that for me. It still feels really weird for an NFG album, but for some reason it still managed to get the creative juices flowing and I got this comic done for Thursday despite starting it rather late. The song I had stuck in my head all comic was "Coming Home". So despite the fact it didn't really fit the mood or theme of today's comic it helped get the job done. Maybe it was a coming home to my art. I don't know, but I can be kinda cheese like that. I mean we are talking about the same guy who withheld the romance for 4 chapters and then busted it out like it was going out of style this past month.

However back to the comic... I originally had written a more lengthy funeral scene, but it just didn't seem to flow quite right. It wasn't so much that it didn't fit as I couldn't express the emotions on paper that I wanted to get through. Death is always a touchy subject for me even more so than romance. In the end I felt my writing did not do the scene justice. Just another extra scene you can expect in the NS anime should such a thing ever happen.

Would I kill off Yuki despite him being what you might call a main character? I might. I am the same schmo who changed the tone of the comic staring from Chapter Two. What I will tell you is that I prepared to versions of the story when I wrote out the entire NS storyline and this event is the difference between the two. I have already decided which outline I am going to follow of course, but I'm just letting you know that I did plan this ahead of time.

As far as Tom is concerned, be prepared for some action boyos. Things are about to go down in a major way and a huge plot point will be revealed during the course of the action. All I can say is that if Yuki can die, Tom sure can. All I can say is that it's going to be pretty cool regardless and I you can definitely see where my influences lie when this is all said and done.
