"Grosse Pointe"
Tuesday February 13th, 2007
I had a tough time getting this one down on paper. I went over the
script over and over and I changed it about a hundred times. I think
what you see is where I want it to be, but in reality this conversation
is one of those things where both people just start talking and don't
stop. I had to truncate that a bit and get to the heart of the matter.
This whole dialogue is one that strikes a chord with me. It is what Yuki
was unable to tell Key when she confronted him and it is one that
Julienne has chosen not to confront by dating Dave without resolving her
feelings for Tom. It's a hard thing to tell someone when they pour their
heart out to you, especially when you are alone or trying to get over
someone.
Some people might say well it's better to have loved and lost then
never to have loved at all. Maybe for them, but I would rather never
have loved at all. It's one thing to long for something, but another to
have had it and then end up having it taken away from you. You'll sit
there and wonder how you could turn your head and lose it all just like
that.
Again, I think this entire comic speaks volumes about Key's heart and
even Joe's for recognizing that and falling for it despite the geeky and
atypical beauty that is Key. I hope you enjoyed this and the previous comics
with all of their drama. We'll be heading back to
Japan for Thursday's installment for a brief moment. I think it's almost
time to start ramping back up for some action don't you agree?
PS- The title of today's comic comes from some lyrics for a song I
wrote a long time ago.
