"That took a while.." Wednesday - October 19th, 2006

Well here we go again for real. Let me preface this by saying drawing one shots and a side comic does not keep one properly "warmed up" for the real deal. I had a hell of a time getting this comic done and it's all a matter of the rust accumulated from not doing the comic in a while. When I do Ninja Spirit, I follow an almost OCD like routine for doing things and not having run that routine in close to three months and then trying to hop right back in is jarring. However I did get the comic done and I hope you enjoyed it. I know not much happens, but I decided to start in the present and work back to the past... so bear with me. I have decided to keep the highlighting step in my art and I hope it makes everything look spiffier. I even used path drawing to redo some lines here and there. It's amazing how much more demanding I've gotten since paying more attention to each individual image from when I was doing the one shots.

However in the word of the Wolf, 'let's not go sucking each other's popsicles just yet'. The rust I think is also evident in that some of the poses and drawings just aren't as good as they should be. I am definitely NOT thrilled with the P4 image of Yuki. Izumi on the other hand came out really nice. I'll just assume as I get back more into the flow of things, it'll knock the rust loose.

Anyway I want to welcome you back again for good and I can only say that Chapter Five will knock your socks off. I'll be back on Monday with a new comic and we'll go more into this Masamune guy...
