"Life is short" Wednesday - September 13th, 2006

Seeing as how I had a nigh impossible time doing Tom's background I opted for something a bit simpler here. I think it works and hopefully you think so as well. You also might note that Key is wearing a new outfit. While everyone else has sort of a combat outfit they wear, Key does not. So what you see here is a preview of her Chapter Five combat gear. I originally had more of a Chinese style, but figured it wasn't going with the Japanese theme and changed the outfit to a more Japanese like kimono.

I almost want to go through the whole story of how I thought some terrorists were crank calling me, but its a bit long. The gist of it was I kept getting phone calls on my cell every 10 minutes for an hour and then every hour after that on Tuesday morning while I was asleep. No one but people I know have my number so needless to say I was pretty worked up about it. I had to call everyone I knew to make sure they weren't in a ditch somewhere. I called the number back and some guy who I could barely understand and hear gave me the round around. It was weird as hell and The Kelly told me that someone had called her house looking for me but mispronounced my last name. Luckily that call turned out to be a sales call and the weirdo guy was probably a wrong number. Still very creepy.

I also wanted to share the Dave was going to go sky diving recently. A huge group at his job were going and he decided to do it. They were going to go three weekends ago, but due to weather postponed it for a week later. Again the weather was bad and so this time they decided to break up in smaller groups so they could find easier times to go. So when Dave decided to come out to visit me this past weekend one of those groups had decided to go. They were going tandem diving since they were all new to it and tragically one of the people's parachutes failed to open and both Dave's colleague and the tandem jumper were killed. Dave was in shock when he went in on Monday and people at work told him about it. I'm in shock as well. I've always wanted to sky dive and you just never think about things like this happening. It's crazy. Anyway I felt it was what I can do to dedicate this image to him. Life is short and anything can happen. So live life as good as you can and help yourself and those around you to enjoy it while you're around.

River ponders being back on LI.
