"The Spirit 300 Poster" Sunday - April 23rd, 2006

Well as you can see I finally got my ass in gear and picked up a pencil and put it to paper. I started with the sketch you see first. I then drew a full side shot of each person in the poster at about 8 inches tall each. Then I composited them to get the final line art you see in the bottom panel. Some things you should notice is that I am forgoing any sense of surprise and unleashing upon you the updated character designs for Chapter 5. Some of you..koffStratuskoff... should be happy to note that the heroes seem to have visited a barber in between chapters.

I do want to mention that the idea behind this poster was from an old Saint Seiya pencil board I had. In fact once it's finished, it'll look even more like it and it's my attempt at an homage to the greatest influence for me in terms of my comic.

Anyway I hope you all like the way it is coming out and I have to say it was nice to get back on the horse. I want ALL of you to know that I never would've gotten to this point at this time had it not been for ALL of you. The e-mails, the messages, and the gifts I received from you helped find my passion for my art. Oh and before I forget, I have another piece of fanart that was given to me by StratusFox that I ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN LOVE. I love her art and I think what I like best about it is that there's life in her drawing. Some people have such great art skills, but their art seems lifeless. Stratus is able to capture this feeling and essence in her art that is really wonderful. That and the fact that she's a baseball fan helps. ; )

So I'll see you all on Thursday for the finished Spirit 300 poster. I don't want to jinx anything yet because things have been going well, but if you come back in a week you might even see something wonderful.

River is back on the horse.
