"Happy St Patty's Day" Thursday - March 16th, 2006

Well okay I'm blaming this comic being late because I didn't get home till way late on Wednesday. Work has been going crazy ever since Syracuse won the Big East Championship. Tuesday and Wednesday were 11 hour days and I just couldn't get the time in to finish the comic on time. Plus I really wanted to work on the last panel to make sure I got what I wanted. I hope you all like it. At any rate I'm looking forward to work returning to normal now that SU is out of the tournament after a 1st round loss to Texas A&M. I can't say I shed any tears over that one. Especially since SU beat the Huskies in the Big East Tournament and then had to rub it in by making shirts to commemorate the event. In the end I think that SU was done in by winning the Big East. Not only did it burn them out, but it gave them a higher seed then they deserved. Instead of facing a team as an underdog, they now held the favorite position against an underdog Texas A&M team who proved it was hungrier and fresher than the Orange. Had the Orange been eliminated from the big East tournament by Georgetown they would've had almost a week's rest, different seed, and less pressure. There's only so many games you can win in a row, especially come tournament time.

I didn't know Cuba Gooding Jr was on the SU Basketball staff.  Show me the money Gerry!

Oh come on... I couldn't resist. Afterall we're talking about a community who printed up shirts to commemorate a win against my UConn Huskies. I was happy for SU fans after the Huskies lost. However no one likes being reminded of a tough loss by their team every time they look at someone's back. Especially since all that came from the game was the increased likelihood that SU was going to the Tournament. Man, Karma is a bitch.

Anyway enough about basketball. Afterall how many of you really care about that? Talking about the comic, you can see that Yuki has shown up for the fight. Joe was worried that Yuki had been left in the middle of nowhere after they got separated teleporting to where they are now. Luckily for Joe, Yuki didn't end up miles away. So now the sides are evened up with two a piece. Caine and Dai on one side and Joe and Yuki on the other. The final battle begins, but before we do let's just have a little drama. Next week find out what Tom, Dave, Key, and Jules are up to and don't expect things to be pretty.

To end this note on a positive note... Japan advanced to the WBC semifinals to face Korea for the third time in the tournament thanks to the US losing to Korea. All I have to say is that if you only watch one baseball game this year, this is the one to watch. Both countries are rivals and feelings between the two countries cannot be said to always be cordial. The game will be held on ESPN at 10 PM this Saturday. Watch it and become a supporter of the Hinomaru!!

River says Happy St Pats!!
