"Everyone's felt like Dave once in their lifetime" Sunday - November 6th, 2005

We've all been there. You finally find someone and its the beginning of a new relationship. It's like the clouds have opened up for you and you're flying high. Sure the relationship eventually grounds itself in reality, but for those first few minutes, hours, days there's nothing like it in the world. You could have the crappiest day and yet everything is right with the world just because you're in a brand spanking new relationship. So I'm hoping you can see why Dave looks a bit high this strip.

But wait, you cry... screw Dave. What happened to Yuki and Key?

Poor Dave is my response. Isn't it nice enough that I made one happy couple in NS? I promise to bring you the conclusion of what happened between Yuki and Key later on, but for now we need to see some plot advancement. You mighta noticed that Yuki is actually acting a bit like a prick. I won't deny it. I will add that Tom acted a bit crazy after Beth died prior to the comic starting. The lesson to be learned here is that people get messed up by death. Some people handle it better than others I think. Though we differ on our views of the afterlife, I will always admire and look up to Joe for his character in such situations.

Like I always say Ninja Spirit can be a very simple if you read through it and take it at face value... a fantasy story about high school kids trying to save the world. However underneath the fantasy are some very real stories about real lives and people which are anything but simple. There's no right or wrong way to read this comic, as long as you get some enjoyment from it. Everyone's journey is different. It's why I make Ninja Spirit as it is. Have a good one guys and I'll see you on Thursday where I promise some serious ass whupping.

River thinks about life.
