Comic for Monday October 17th, 2005

"A coupla things" Sunday - October 16th, 2005

Hopefully everyone had gotten my message last week on why the comic wasn't up. I was sick. However I am now feeling better is still not 100%. Maybe around 95%. The good news for you of course is that the comic is back. This is of course the comic that I had set for last week and it sorta helped I guess that it was done for I still spent most of this weekend resting and not doing anything.

I think this comic was pretty interesting. I mean first you see that Yuki's Mangetsu Hyou Ryu Ken is no laughing matter. The last time we saw it being used it was against a simple barrier. This time Yuki tried to use it against someone and it was only through Dave's interference that it didn't hit. If the image up above is roughly in scale then you can assume that the power left a crater in the sand about 30-40 feet in diameter and since you can't judge depth I'll let you know it went about that far in. The hole would've been a lot bigger most likely if it had been solid earth and not sand.

The second thing you can see is that Yuki himself seems indifferent to the thought of killing someone. We can guess that this is because he was indeed trying to protect his friends from a similar fate of Kelly. Or you might say that he truly has lost all emotion and that he simply used what he had to defeat Izumi. That interpretation is left up to you and I suppose it depends on how you feel about Yuki's state of mind.

A third thing you can see is that Julienne is the one in control of the situation. She remains calm and knows what to say to keep Dave and Yuki from escalating into a fight. I've mentioned her skills in this field before, but I thought I would remind you because you know... these small details tend to become larger ones later on.

A fourth thing is that Izumi was obviously not prepared to hear that our heroes had any knowledge of Amatsu Mikaboshi. Furthermore we can see that she doesn't even know that he has returned or that Amaterasu's reincarnation had been born and subsequently died. What this means will further be seen in Thursday's comic.
