"The Ring Two" Sunday - March 21st, 2005
Damn Sims 2... I didn't get as much as I wanted done thanks to getting hooked on Sims 2 this weekend. That plus I went to see Ring Two. I knew it wasn't going to be as good as the first. All I was hoping was that it didn't suck. So all I have to say is that I was in the middle for this one. It wasn't a very scary movie and played out more like the traditional Japanese philosophical supernatural psych drama with an American flavor. I did like it, but like those who went to see Last Action Hero expecting a traditional action movie, you might be a little let down. Since we already know what's scary about the movie there wasn't too much to be super scared about. A few quality scenes including the deer and well scene, but other than that the movie simply served to flesh out the myth of the Ring.
So all this leads to a bit more of a story based comic. We begin to see more of Tom and Beth's relationship and how they met. It's been implied and talked about before, but now you get to see how it played out for Tom as he talks us through his first and true love. This is for those of you who believe that there is that one person for each of us somewhere out there. That no matter when and where, you'll meet that person and know. I'm not as idealistic to such things, but I am idealistic enough to romanticize the notion.
It also leads to part two of this little sequence and that is what would happen if that true love was taken from you? Unfairly and cruelly. If you truly believed in there being only one person for you who devastating would it be to lose that person knowing no one else would come close? That's what Tom barely being a preteen faces. Sure it might not be as bad since he has less time to think about the past and more time ahead to bury the pain. Ehh... maybe I'm just rambling on. Either way check out how and if Tom survives this trip down memory lane on Thursday and be sure to come back tomorrow as the Battle of Spirit begins in earnest and we start down the road to find out just who the most popular NS character is!!!
