"Battle of Spirit II" Sunday - February 27th, 2005
All I gotta say is that I had fun drawing this one. It wasn't the best drawing or plotting out job by far, but in terms of storytelling, times like this are pretty fun for the storyteller. It should please all of you Julienne fans to know that she is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with even without a ninja weapon and spirit attacks. It also illustrates just why she was considered a combo force with Tom when he played football. Her ability to use her skills to help and support are almost bar none. She may not be the smartest, strongest, or prettiest, but in the end Jules is someone you can't really live without. Unfortunately people like her are also prone to being underappreciated and taken advantage of. More on this on a later date...
In other big news, you may have noticed the old Battle of Spirit banner back in place up above. As you and I both know Spirit 200 is fast approaching and with it the Battle of Spirit tournament to crown just who the most popular character in Ninja Spirit is!! Starting March 22nd, the day after the posting of Spirit 200, a poll will be posted on the main page right under the comic. Every weekday two Ninja Spirit characters will duke it out to see who can amass the most votes from all of you till one true champion is crowned!!
You don't think I'd just celebrate the 200th strip of Ninja Spirit comic with a simple popularity poll did you? Once again you the reader have a shot in winning a nice special limited edition poster commemorating the second batch of 100 NS comic strips. All you have to do is go into the Battle of Spirit section and click on the Entry Form link. There you will do your best to predict just how the Battle of Spirit Tournament will unfold. Whoever has the most points at the end of the tournament wins a one of the aforementioned signed posters by yours truly!! If you miss out on winning, a limited edition of the poster will be on sale till the end of Spring. (Just so you know the special limited edition poster is not only signed by myself, but also features a never before seen character to come!!)
There are no catches in this contest. The rules are fairly simple.
1. You can only enter once.
2. You MUST supply a real name and valid E-mail address. If you win the poster, I will obviously also need you real address as well.
3. All entries are due by the end of Saturday March 19th, 2005. No late entries will be accepted.
4. If anyone is found cheating via stuffing of the ballot boxes or sending in duplicate entries they will be disqualified from the contest.
As always this contest will be monitored by one of those geeky computer types that I know. So don't cheat!! The point is to enjoy and have fun with the whole thing. As was the case before, all matches during the Battle of Spirit will be discussed in the NS Forum, so you might wanna drop in there while the tournament is going on to see what other fans like yourself are saying!!
