"Chapter Three" Sunday - August 15th, 2004
Hope you enjoyed today's special one-pager. I took my time making it and I think it came out looking really good. Maybe I'll turn it into a cafepress design. I'll see if there's enough interest on whether I do it or not. I do want to point out that the Limited Edition Spirit 100 Poster will be taken down after Spirit 150 next week so be sure to order it by Friday next week if you want it. I also want to make it clear that I am not profiting at all from the sales of any cafepress merchandise. The price you pay is basically Cafepress's charge in making the stuff up. I use it basically to make some on the spot NS merch for anyone who wants it.
Anyway enough about stores and merchandise. I'm sure you're all awaiting the beginning of what is sure to be one of the most explosive chapters in Ninja Spirit so far. I dare say it might be the best, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Maybe it's just me, but when friends fight it seems a bit more dramatic than if good fights evil. We've all fought with friends either in heated argument or in fair competition. I think in most cases it's not a case of who's right or wrong, but simply this rivalry that boils up because you know each other so well and you respect that person that when it comes time to face them, it become that much more intense. I'll eventually get to the good versus evil (in my own way mind you), but for now I'll continue to enjoy exploring the psyche of what makes friendships so important in our lives.
Oh and I want to point out that the cast page has been expanded somewhat. There's probably less there than you expect, but it's a start on how Chapter 3 will begin to grow outward. Some of those silhouettes may seem familiar and other might not. You can expect the additional characters to become integral parts of Chapter 3 and beyond.
Okay so when exactly is Chapter 3 going to start? Next week I tell you. Come Thursday will be a filler comic. It might be omake, it might be a character design sheet, or maybe a guest strip? Not that I ever get any, but I'd put it up on Thursday if I did. At any rate, rest assured that Chapter 3 is coming and it'll be well worth the wait!!
