Yay Chapter 2 is done!! Yay The NS forum Clan Wars are almost ready to begin!!! YAY!!!

"Chapter Two ~Fin" Thursday - August 12th, 2004
Phrew... what a year and half it's been people. When I started writing the script and storyline for Ninja Spirit, all I had for Chapter Two was 'Tom is the bad guy'. I think the chapter has come a long way since that simple one line. I mean the whole Kelly going evil sort of evolved from the one line I had for Chapter Three - 'Kelly and Joe are the bad guys.'. As you can see I was running on a theme. I loved how the interaction between Tom and Dave worked out. I think the whole love triangle thing between them and Jules was first suggested by The Kelly and it was damn good idea. I think I like how it's not this huge thing, but more of a subtle thing by each respective party.
I do want to talk a bit about the last comic in the chapter. I think Dave's line in P1 is one of my favorites. I also think that's the first genuine smile I drew for Tom and it just seems to capture the rebirth of a guy who was on a long downward slide. I do think the drawing in this strip was kind of weak, but then again I always seem to think that. No big deal.
As always whenever I hit a milestone in the comic, I feel I should thank some of the people who have helped me make this comic. First there's friends and family. As always George is a huge help with the forums and to be great enough to provide some great tunes whether he's in Sprout or Hijinx. There's Dave, who got me on my way to Otakon. That was such a great time and hopefully next year I'll have a table just so I can meet more people. Rob is one of the greatest guys to run ideas off of and has supplied a few choice ideas that have found their way into the comic. Adia, as my one true internet friend. I don't talk with her as much as I used to because I'm always swamped doing this comic, but I want to mention her here cause she's a great friend and an inspiration. Then of course there's The Kelly. Where would I be without The Kelly? In ditch begging for change and eating baked potatoes for lunch and dinner. She's the greatest.
Finally I want to thank every single person who comes and reads this comic. I mean it's definitely not the greatest read out there so thanks for thinking enough of it to stop by. I know it's weird, but I still love drawing this comic!! I love making this story and watching the characters grow and develop. I should advertise the comic more to get more readers, but I like letting things grow just like it is. Maybe I'll never get bigger, but that's okay with me. For all of you who read the comic and to those people who believe in this comic enough to vote on the bCx list, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope the product of my love for comics and art continues to amuse you.
I look forward to Chapter three and the new surprises and twists that it will bring. Chapter Three is probably my favorite so far. Friends versus friends with the additional pressure of not knowing who is telling the truth. I can't guarantee that the truth will be revealed at the end of this chapter, but I will say that the final twist will be a doozy. Expect what you would expect if you were trying to second guess the unexpected.
