"Mega Man Rules" Sunday - June 27th, 2004 I got the Mega Man Collection PS2 game over the weekend and I have to say at 30 bucks, it is one hell of a steal. I mean you get 10 games in one. Sure two of them are weird battle games, but to even have Mega Man 1-8 on one disk is amazing in and of itself. I've gone through and beaten 1 and 2 so far and I have to say that memory served me correctly in the boss order I had fight and how Mega Man can be impossibly hard at times while Mega Man 2 is for the most part a breeze fest where continues are not needed. I will say that the rock monster boss is very hard without the pause cheat and that Iceman's board is the most infuriating thing ever. They tossed in some concept art and music tracks for secrets. I', sure there are more since I have only beaten two of the 8 games. They do have a remix version you can play where they will give you gameplay hints, spiff up the menus and health bars as well as revamp the old music with remix versions. I have to say the remixes are very good so far with one glaring exception. Magnet Man's music has been so remixed that it doesn't even resemble the old song anymore. Considering it was my favorite of the entire series, that was a huge no no. So that was the weekend. The Kelly had never played Mega Man so she was also giving it a try. her biggest complaint while playing through the first one? That Mega Man couldn't shoot up ore diagonally. Her biggest question? Why the hell did Mega Man open his mouth when he jumped? And at what point did she toss the controller in frustration? I'll give you a hint by saying there were some disappearing/reappearing boxes of the frozen kind involved. Today's comic took a bit longer than expected. In fact I ended up adding two more panels tot he finished product to fit in everything I wanted to get in. I mean there are thirteen panels in this one, but one is a repeat and two others are more remix panels. That's the way things go when you go and change things at the last minute. I do think the art in this one works rather well and even though there are nit picky things that might annoy me or some, I think there is some really good stuff in there as well. Now for the story we finally have Tom's reasoning for fighting Yuki out in the open. I know it's kinda weird, but I watched a documentary once and they were talking about survivor's guilt for a while and it got me to thinking how powerful that might be. So I ended up using it in my comic for Tom. It does explain Tom's disregard for his own health as shown when he over spent himself at the football game and how he kept attacking Yuki head on despite Yuki using the Engetsu Arashi. It also explains why Jules was not able to stop Tom from fighting even when she asked him to stop as she died. In Tom's mind he was only focused on finally unloading the guilt he had for narrowly escaping an attack that would've killed him had he been present. So will Yuki's small speech have an affect on Tom? Or... Will the newcomers make some trouble of their own? We saw them way back in this strip and we now get to maybe see them in action and quite possibly figure out their identities. At any rate they don't look very friendly at all. What is their agenda and why did they show up at the fight now? You'll find out some of those answers later this week!! See you all then!
