"Thunder Storms" Monday - May 24th, 2004

The whole Syracuse area was hit with some massive thunder storms last night and this morning and it's causing delays to posting today's comic. However as you can see, it's up for you all to enjoy. I had to deal with no power for a while last night and the threat of such things happening again this morning. All in all not a fun experience, but...

The T Wolves won Game 2 of their Conference Final playoff series. It was a crushing victory that seems to be the hallmark of the Timberwolves this year. In years past, I always had this feeling like they just weren't good enough when they were in the playoffs. The opposing teams always seemed to be able to shift into another gear and Garnett just never seemed comfortable taking over a game. Not this year baby. KG is showing people why he's the league MVP and they call him The Big Ticket. I mean he's had games these playoffs where he looks like the KG of old, but then he has these games when you just know he's going to win the game for you. Take Game 3 & 7 of the Sacramento series. KG was just unstoppable. It was like watching the game tonight I was finally able to comprehend what other San Antonio or Lakers fans feel when Duncan, Shaq, or Kobe take over a game. I mean I never saw Garnett just school people using a crossover dribble before. He owned some European who thought he was cool scoring over Garnett using it and even left Webber on the ground in the series before. He's 7' 1" or 6'13" as he so often says himself and he's crossing people over?! I have new respect for the man's skills.

Enough about basketball and thunder storms. I'll be heading down to Long Island for the Memorial Day weekend. What that means besides the fact that I'll be seeing family and friends is that there might not be a comic on Monday. I haven't totally ruled it out, but it might have to wait till later in the week where you might get a comic on Wednesday and Thursday. Either way, I'll know better towards the end of the week on what I'll be up to so I'll let you all know Thursday what the decision is.

I mentioned a bunch of stuff about the last strip in the forums, so if you don't check them out here's a direct link so you could read up on my comments about the last strip.

And now on to today's strip. I don't have anything bad to say about it. I guess you can say I'm happy with the end result. I wasn't sure how the vibration from the Jishin technique would work, but I think it looks pretty descent. It's definitely blurry, but I think it conveys the action well. Let me know what you think so I can change it if necessary. Or send any suggestions. Either or.

I think with the action starting up we have less to talk about when it comes to the storyline. It definitely looks like Tom is on the comeback trail. Will he fall short or will Tenko's prediction come true. If that's the case will Joe, Keylie, and Tenko jump in to help? Will Julienne really be able to stop all three of them if they do?

Speaking of Julienne, there's been speculation that she might be Beth's sister. Normally I'd just let the rumors go as they may, but I'll dispel this one right now and say that Julienne and Beth are not related. I did however try and make them look similar with their long hair and such. The reasons for which I'm sure someone will be able to deduct. Classic reason really.

So hopefully you all have a great day and I'll let you know what's going on for NS next week on Thursday!!
