"Late" Monday - May 10th, 2004

Seeing as how I have today off, I figured I would just wake up early instead of staying up late to do the comic. Unfortunately I woke up later than planed and so the comic is a little late. Hope everyone doesn't mind.

I didn't get a chance to do much this weekend. The Kelly and I watched some TV and Naruto and that was it. Maybe we'll go see Van Helsing next week. We'll have to see. Has anyone ever watched a show called Mythbusters? I think it runs on Discovery and it's about these two special effects guys going out and trying to scientifically bust urban legends and myths like when the fat woman sits down on the airplane toilet seat and gets her rectum suctioned out of her body because her ass causes a seal to form. That was a pretty interesting one. I recommend the show highly. One of my favorite new shows to watch.

I just have to say that I was not happy with the way this strip turned out at all. I think there's problems with it all over the place and it was just a case of having drawing block and just pushing through it to get the comic out. I mean it's not horrible, but it  definitely isn't my best stuff. I mean it started out alright with a good picture of Key Lime, but it went downhill after that till about the last panel. You win some and you lose some I guess. I did get to use the Tenko in this strip from an aborted panel from last Thursday's comic.

I'm actually always cutting drawings from comics because they don't fit or because the dialogue just gets weighed down too much. About 95 percent of the times those drawings are always filed away never to be used, but this was one of the few cases where the drawing could fit in for what I wanted in today's strip.

So we get a little break from the action for a little friendly ribbing and some not so friendly ribbing. Though I'm sure you can tell that the action will resume on Thursday. Yuki's power that he had been working on his own has finally been revealed. Some might have expected a more traditional power like the 5 moons, but the true level up for Yuki is being able to push his body to super duper magically jacked speed now. When he actually goes Supersonic it is near impossible to see or keep up with his movements unless someone goes supersonic themselves. However like Tenko says, the move drains a lot of stamina and spirit. We'll see if Yuki can play this out right and not wear himself out before he beats Tom. Plus you don't think Tom is going to take being talked to like that do you? I guess we'll find out soon enough!!

Vote for Ninja Spirit!!
