"Danger!! danger!!" Sunday - April 25th, 2004
Today's comic was almost a no show. Usually when I leave soda on my computer desk, I make it a point to leave it on the left hand side where I can see it while I sit on the computer as the monitor sits on the right hand side of my computer. The second reasoning for this is that all the cables, power cords, and surge protector sit on the floor next to the right hands side of my desk. This system of keeping soda to my visible left has served me well and while there have been minor mishaps, nothing too major had ever happened. Unfortunately, earlier today, an almost full can of soda was sitting on the right hand side of my desk. Since I didn't see it when I adjusted my monitor, the whole thing went overboard.
After looking I saw that soda was everywhere. I quickly saved everything I was working on and quickly shut down the computer. I then tore the cords from the wall socket hoping that nothing serious had happened considering my surge protector had taken on a puddle of soda. I then had to move the computer desk, remove my computer, my scanner, and remove all the cords from all my stuff. I wiped down all the cords and realized that soda had gotten into the surge protector. I was then finally able to reach the spill so I could clean it. Paper towels, sponges, and a bucket of water did the trick. I also added some ant spray because the last thing I need is ants crawling all over in a hard to reach spot so close to my bed which sits against the computer desk.
From there I hopped in my car drove out to Best Buy before it closed and bought a new surge protector with some of rent money. I stopped off at the grocery store on the way back so I could buy some more cleaning supplies and some food for dinner. All in all the whole process took from around 3:30 to about 8:00 and a lot of bitching and cursing on my part. Mind you the comic was not even fully scanned in at this point.
So if the comic looks a little rough today, I apologize. I had to cut out a round of inking to speed things up and get back on track. Even as it stands, the comic took longer than it usually did. I mean out of all the panels I think P5 and P8 were the only real decent ones. Which is a shame. I'll try to do better with Thursday's comic.
As for what's going on in the comic, we get another confusing Kelly strip where she appears to be very kind towards Yuki. This is a bit odd since we know Kelly has always been rather hard on the befuddled ninja. Is Kelly's plan involved with the fight? It looks like it might not be now. Can we count out that it won't? I don't think we can. And just what did Kelly give Yuki that got him all excited? I promise you'll find out on Thursday as the day of his showdown with Tom is finally upon Yuki!!
