"Easter Weekend" Sunday - April 11th, 2004 Here are the first ten songs played out from my entire library of songs set on random (no matter how embarrassing)
Easter weekend was a load of fun. I hope everyone had a nice weekend even if you do not celebrate Easter. I myself do not, but I still enjoyed the holiday nonetheless. On Saturday, I finally broke down and bought Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA. I thought it would be pretty much a gameboy version of Final Fantasy Tactics, but I was sorely mistaken. It's more like FF tactics 2 and is an awesome game in its own right. I wish I just had more time to play it. The Kelly wanted to get Amplitude, which we had played at George's when we went down to my friend Jay's wedding. Seeing as how she wasn't about to spend 40 bucks on the game, she got Frequency, which is like Amplitude 1. She's absolutely hooked on it. She's starting to see the little diamond things in her head. For those not familiar with the game, it's basically a music game in which you have to tap buttons along with the music to unlock different tracks of a song. I have to admit, it's a fun game, but it's no Tactics. Saturday night, we went out to Rochester to meet up with Kris, who is an old college bud of mine. He currently lives in Brooklyn, but he was back in Rochester to visit family for the holidays. We went to Tahou's of course. I need not tell you that the Garbage Plate was sweet. They've been going back to actual plates recently. In the last year or two they were serving plates in the takeout containers. That in itself is not so bad since you tend to get more food that way, but as a purist, I prefer to have my plate on an actual plate. I'd also rather have my drink in the brown cups they used to use, but that's asking for too much. We also stopped at Krispy Kreme where the featured donut was Strawberry Shortcake. I thought it'd be just a cake crumb covered strawberry jelly donut, but the filling was like a creamy strawberry concoction which was a surprise and a delight to my taste buds. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves strawberries like I do. Anyway, it was great getting a chance to catch up with Kris since I hadn't seen him since Thanksgiving. Along with George, and my brother, Kris is one of the funniest guys I know. He just has this way of telling a story that makes it funny. That's a talent that I wish I had myself. Sure I can tell funny stories, but George, Kris, and my brother have this internal timing thing that just enhances a funny story. Kris is great because as he tells a story he has this mode where he starts going off on things. It's one of those you have to be there to understand things. Anyway he told us of the crazy things that go on at the school he teaches at in the City. Wacky stuff I tell you. I laughed my ass off the entire night. Easter was pretty good too. Tons of good food and good times. The Kelly baked a cake shaped like an Easter egg. It was mad good. It was a double layer cake and had chocolate pudding in the middle. I wish I had a picture of it, because she did a great job decorating the cake too. We also watched Brother Bear. I thought it was pretty good. Definitely better than the sequel fare that Disney had been shoving down our throats recently. I mean it wasn't great, but it was decent. Today's comic finally snapped last week's string of artist bloc. Everything came pretty easily and I didn't have to face the post scanning fiasco that was last Thursday's strip. I think P2 and P3 came out the best, but P7 isn't too bad post Photoshop. P5 might seem like a Photoshop job, but I did indeed draw Tenko all skewed out like that. As a whole nothing was great, but it wasn't horrible either and that's always a good thing. As for what's actually going on in the comic, well... I guess we finally get to see one of Tenko's Spirit Fox powers. It's always been assumed that Tenko had some powers of his own, but until now it had never been confirmed. Why is Tenko using such a devastating looking power on Yuki? You might even be wondering where Joe is... (He's off on the side right now). However look for Tenko's training to either help Yuki or kill him... It's time for the moon to reveal itself!!
