"Funny Stuff" Wednesday - April 7th, 2004

Here are the first ten songs played out from my entire library of songs set on random (no matter how embarrassing)

1. "Our Lips Are Sealed"- GoGos
2. "I Get Knocked Down" - Chumbawumba
3. "Gay Bar" - Electric Six
4. "Having a Blast" - Green Day
5. "Lovefool" - The Cardigans
6. "It's Only Rock n Roll" - Rolling Stones
7. "Death of Cinderella" - Alanis Morisette
8. "I Can Love You Better" - Dixie Chicks
9. "Lucas With The Lid Off" - Lucas
10. "What Would You Say" - Dave Matthews Band

Not a bad mix of songs... I wish Alanis had recorded Death of Cinderella. She played it during her first tour for Jagged Little Pill. It was a great song and the copy I have is from a live show bootleg. If you happen to like Alanis, it's worth checking out.

Speaking of Alanis, she's one of those artists that I attach to a certain group of events and times in my life. Probably my sophomore year in college or so. I hung out with a trio of cool chicks and some of the frat guys. Good times. I'm sure Joe remembers meeting Jess and the others. Maybe he doesn't. Either way, I never kept in touch with the girls and that'll always be a bummer. I will always remember chilling out at the in-house bar with just a few of us listening to Jagged Little Pill and just having a good time after the main parties had ended. The girls were always fond of Hand in my Pocket and would always sing along. It's odd how certain memories just  stick so clearly in your mind and just by listening to a song, how you can recall them instantly. Good times.

Yes, I know the comic has not only one repeating panel, but two. The cheapness doesn't end there you say cause I used P1 not only twice, but three times over! Sorry about the repeating panel, but I wasn't about to redraw those panels over and over again. They did serve two distinct purposes though, one of which was to set up the jokes. I hope the fact that I did at least try and change the details of each panel as time progressed helps any. Other than that I have to say that this comic took forever to come out on paper. I just couldn't draw anything. I mean proportions were off and inking was just sloppy. I took some extra time cleaning things up post-scanning and I think that helped ALOT. I mean if you could see what these panels look like raw, then you'd be shocked.

Nothing much storywise in this one since it's a more of a training montage/running gag type of strip. As mentioned earlier, the repeating fashion of this trip served two purposes, one of which was the running gag. The second however is explained by the simple captions for each panel. Hopefully it's pretty self-explanatory. However you don't think this is going to be all of Yuki's training do you? Tenko reveals the true purpose of the climb as well as some secret moves of his own!! So be sure to stop back on Monday!!

Vote for Ninja Spirit!!

River is sitting and chilling.
