"Only one away" Sunday - March 7th, 2004
Remember when I used to be a wuss and only make 4 panel comics? Those were the days wasn't it? The big milestone comic comes up on Thursday and hopefully you'll all be happy as I try and make it a somewhat larger comic filled with tons o' good stuff. There will also be details on the special Big 100 Giveaway contest as well! Anyway I won't spend too much time waxing ecstatic right now. I'll save that for Thursday.
I spent Saturday at work. Anyone who has ever done inventory knows what I mean when I say it's not a tough thing, just a tad too long. A necessary evil of the retail world. Luckily I was spared such things when I worked at The Wiz. I'm not sure why, but I'm sure it had something to do with the fact that I was defending the store against breath-stealing cats.
After work I was going to go see Starsky & Hutch, but after The Kelly and I went to eat dinner at Appleby's we decided to just call it a night and go home. All was not lost though as we spent the rest of the night watching Naruto and that's always a good thing. We even got to see the funniest moment in all of Naruto. Here it is for your own viewing enjoyment...

Now let's talk about NS. Compared to what I felt was a poor effort last Thursday I feel like I bounced back nicely to get out some pretty decent panels for today's comic. I feel P3-P5 were the strongest panels of the entire comic. I just like the way Dave and Julienne interact in such a subtle way. I also think P6 does a good job of conveying the guilt Joe feels for not being to jump out and help Dave earlier.
This is only the beginning of Joe's plight. You'll just have to wait and see how this will affect Joe in the future. Will Dave be okay? Will he ever be able to fight again? Is Yuki every going to appear this comic again? (Hint... Count on most of the main characters to appear in Spirit 100) Most importantly does Yuki have a remote chance in hell of being able to defeat Tom? Prepare for that, some explanation of this Spirit nonsense, and a traitor revealed!!! BWAHAHAHA!!
