"All about the Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture Edition" Sunday - December 28th, 2003 I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. I know I did. The voting picture was my gift for those of you who have been voting for the comic day in and day out. Thanks a billion. I suppose I could have advertised it and went for a few extra votes, but really it comes down to giving something to the loyal readers more then an advert trick. I try to take care of you guys as much as I can!! Got more time to sit down and play NHL 2004 and Kingdom Hearts. Both are superb games. I do think that I liked the gameplay a bit better in NHL 2002. The analog stick just still doesn't do it for me. Although I think that isn't a big a problem as having the "bruise control" checking feature on the right analog stick. Makes unleashing huge body flattening checks on the opposing team a near impossibility. The fact that you have to hold it down just kills me. It takes way too much coordination to line up someone and then charge the check and then press in the direction you want to go. Maybe if you set the game speed way down, but that just kills me. I need my hockey games to fly. However the franchise feature makes up for all the gameplay shortcomings and really that's what's going to keep me playing the game. Anyway, I also got a chance to go out to Tahoe's once again this weekend because Kris was at his dads during the Christmas break. So Tom drove back up from Albany and he, The Kelly, and myself went out to visit him. We partook of the glorious Garbage Plate feast and then actually took some time to go around and do some shopping on Rochester. The Kelly managed to find a copy of Vertigo for pretty cheap and I think we're going to get to watch it tomorrow. The trip as a whole was definitely good times. Tonight The Kelly and I got a chance to play the Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture Edition board game that comes with a DVD. It was actually pretty fun and was a tad bit easier then the usual Trivial Pursuits. The DVD itself was a good touch and gave you that video Jeopardy feel whenever you had to go for a scoring wedge. Although I think The Kelly did a good job scaring me. She landed on a "music" topic space and the question was "what pet does Right Said Fred sing about in his hit single?" and without any hesitation or any time to think it over she was like "a cat!!!" Now I don't know about you, but I know I would've eventually gotten the answer, but the fact that she was able to say it as soon as I finished asking her the question made my blood run cold. Who knows that song that well? Someone who has sold their sold their soul says I... She tried to play it off, but I know the truth... I have spytech. Leave it to Joe to put a dumb Yuki in his place. As Joe so clearly states, Yuki has indeed agreed to take Key Lime to the Homecoming Dance. Joe seems a tad bit too mad though don't you think? Read into that what you will for there are quite a few explanation for Joe's outburst. I also tried to liven up Yuki's room a bit more since every time you see it, it seems a bit on the bare side. I mean compared to Kelly's room... So we have a few more posters up on the wall that has yet to be seen in the comic. I do like the way P1 and P2 came out. They convey the emotion of the characters particularly well. I don't feel as strongly as the rest of the panels though. So I guess this sets the stage for Homecoming Dance right? Not quite. Look for a bit of a twist when Thursday's comic comes rolling into town. I'm not quite sure if it'll be much of a shocker, but... heh you'll just have to wait and see.
