"Happy Thanksgiving" Wednesday - November 26th, 2003

In hind sight I should've just done a regular comic for today because the special holiday gift picture you see above took just about as much time doing as a regular strip would've taken.

Yes, I understand that the pic really isn't all that festive in the Thanksgiving theme, but trust me I sat up for hours trying to come up with something. At first I was like okay something that has to do about Thanksgiving... At around 3 in the morning is right around when I was getting desperate and was pleading with my imagination to just cut me a deal and give me anything. Thankfully my stomach and I managed to finagle our way through it with promises of many future trips to Tahoe's. The resulting inspiration late last night was the drawing you see up above.

Unfortunately due to space constraints and bandwidth issues, I had to keep the pic at a 500x500 size. I kept the res pretty high though. The actual drawing is actually around 18 inches in diameter and you might see it up in the store as a poster or something like that because it is very sweet at that size.

Man my brothers computer sucks. I am currently at my parents house on Long Island and I had to color this whole pic on this crappy asstastic machine. I mean it's the same model as my computer, but I mean mine can barely even be called anything anymore after all the crap I threw in there. The worst part is my bro seems to not believe in the art of regular computer maintenance and as such there are garbage files all over the place, who knows what kind of spyware, and I'm not even getting into why with nothing open the computer only has 60% of its system resources.

Plus his mouse is so bad that it does that weird skippy thing. Normally it's simply an annoyance, but when you're trying to do color and shade drawings using it, its akin to say driving a car with weighted boxing gloves on. You can do it, but the list of things you would do to have a decent mouse starts to rack up with every skip.

Enough about that though. I should get more into the holiday feeling. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday after all.

I'm basically thankful for the life I was given and the world in which I live. It's an imperfect world any way you look at it, but anything better and we wouldn't realize the need to be thankful for the things that we have. Enough people don't realize that fact that a perfect world is something of your own making. It took me long enough to figure it out, but I'm thankful again for that.

I'm thankful for the parents I have. I'm thankful for being able to get along with my brother really well. I'm also thankful for a wonderful little sister. I'm thankful that I have not had to face death too close. I do not fear it, but I feel that not being exposed it may bring a false sense of security. I am thankful for being blissfully ignorant of it.

I am thankful for the real friends I have and have made and lost. Real friends aren't grown on trees and the ones I have managed to keep through thick and thin I can say I love. There isn't a single thing I wouldn't do for them and I know the same sits vice versa. I'm also thankful for the best friends I have. They are the ones who know me as well as I know myself and know exactly what I am thinking of when I thank them right now.

I am thankful for my dog Gai and my other best friend BLackie. I don't know where you are bud, but if you are on that Rainbow Bridge then you'll know that I'll be there to see you when the time comes. I am thankful to have known a thing such as pure love as only a loving pet can give.

I am thankful for Garbage plates and the all of the great times they have brought me. No other single place besides a place of my residence has so many of my life's best moments happened. I'm thankful of my talent and my imagination and not being so cynical of life so that I don't lose the magic of youth and childhood.

I am thankful that there are the good men and women of the armed forces out there doing their best to make sure that all is safe in the world.

I am thankful for the internet and the wealth of things it brings. Thankful for the friends I have found that I wouldn't have otherwise found and other people who I have had the privilege of getting to know who aren't quite friends yet. I'm thankful that it provides me with an opportunity to share my imagination with as many people who will happen to see it. I'm thankful for anyone who comes by to visit, much less read these droning rants, much less vote for such a silly thing as this. Thank you so much  for you are all so very kind.

I am thankful for all the small and big things I am forgetting now in hindsight. I am more grateful for all of these things then I ever was and I know that as time goes on my thanks will only become more sincere then they were the day before. For this Thanksgiving I am most thankful that I can share it with my whole family and that I will be able to taste my mom's cooking.

I hope that all of you who read this are with the ones you love. Enjoy eating your turkey, reading this comic, watching football, a parade, even babaganoush!! I'll see you all again soon.
