"Welsh names are cool" Sunday - October 26th, 2003

I think I finally got the sports bug over with now that the World Series is over. As much as I wanted to forget Baseball ever existed, the fact that the F'in Yankees were still in it caused me to be reminded about it almost every day. Am I happy that the Yankees lost? Normally I would, but I can honestly say that I could not give two rat shits. Should I feel somewhat vindicated now that the team that Giants lost to eventually won the World Series? HEEEEELLLLLL NO. I... nope.. not gonna get into this again... Next year...

Caught Joey Pants new show "The Handler" this past Friday. It was actually pretty good... up till the ending. They built up this huge intricate plot, but then it ends abruptly and cheaply. Maybe it was just one show. I don't know. I'll probably catch another one to see if the show is truly good.

Dilemma. Tuesday at 9:00. On one hand you have the series finale for the Joe Schmo show. Probably the best Reality Show to hit TV since the original Survivor. In the other you have Kiefer Sutherland and the season premiere of 24. IMHO, the best drama on TV today bar none. Which to watch?

The Kelly purchased Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD this weekend. I haven't gotten a chance to see the extras, but the movie was enjoyable the second time around. I did notice watching it again that when Harry and the Weasleys meet up with the Malfoys at Diagon Alley, Lucius does slip in Tom Riddle's diary in Ginny's cauldron. Also does Moaning Myrtle look a little old to have gone to Hogwarts? Or what about Tom Riddle? Also I have to come to believe that the term Mudblood means anyone that has had muggle blood in their family line and that has solved some great conflict for me. How much different are things now that Order has come out then when you only had Chamber to read? Also did anyone else catch how much Hagrid looks like Rupert from the new Survivor? It's uncanny.

Let's move on to the comic though cause it's getting late and I need sleep. As you can see I had to insert two extra frames because I felt the revelation of Lord Hawk's true identity warranted it. Surprisingly, I thought P4 came out well despite my feeling that it would be the weakest of all the panels. I had to correct Yuki's eyes in P5 though because for a while he was looking very cross eyed.

So... the fight looks like its over. Lord Hawk is revealed to be Dave Btwys-y-Cawr. Just what the hell happened and how did Yuki seem to figure it all out? It'll be explained in the strips to come. Some of it will be pretty self explanatory, but expect some new developments to appear that will cause what many of you had been expecting to be thrown for a loop. The ending to Chapter One is rapidly coming!!

PS- The Cowboy Kelly picture of the day referenced BASEketball and today's pic actually is referring to LI superband Sprout's upcoming new album.

Vote for Ninja Spirit!!

River wonders if it will be Kiefer or Matt Kennedy Gould.
