"Dedicated to Hedgewig" Sunday - October 5th, 2003

To Hedgewig

My beloved hedgehog, Hedgewig passed away last Thursday. I cope by not thinking about it too much. Doesn't hurt as much that way. We brought him to a pet cemetery to be cremated and it took all of my willpower to not want to throw up and leave. Not so much as it pertains to Hedgewig, because I was coping very well by not thinking, but it brought up old memories. I will say this about Hedgewig though, for not being a dog, he was a very good companion. He had quite a personality and he loved eating his worms and having his quills brushed with an old toothbrush. I miss having here to check in on when I come home. I think that's the worst part of it. That sharp reminder that they just aren't there anymore. I hope Hedgewig was happy with his life. I shall see you again someday hopefully.
