"Good God! Th-That's Ray Lucas' music!" Wednesday - September 24th, 2003 One of my favorite websites to visit day in and day out is ESPN Page 2 columnist Bill Simmons Sports Guy page. The guy has amazing comedic talent. Although some of his jokes tend to be inside jokes that the general public might not get. He is still the best writer for Page Two and wrote the above post title in this column which in turn inspired the title and reference in today's comic. Most people might not find that funny, but I find myself chuckling every time I think about it. Anyway if you really want a good laugh check out the Sports Guy's column on the karate kid trilogy, which should have won some sort of award in my opinion. Good times. I do apologize to those who do not know who Ray Lucas is. I will truthfully say though, that you're leading much better lives for NOT knowing. Speaking of which, the Kelly and I are considering going out to the movies this weekend and there seems to be a high number of choices of possible flicks to go see. Of course Underworld is the front runner in my book, but Cabin Fever and Cold Blah Manor also looks pretty decent. What can I say? I'm a sucker for any decent looking horror flicks. I am however a tad bit more partial to seeing vampires and werewolves kicking each others ass ala World of Darkness. Brings back fond memories playing Werewolf with Kris back in the day. Good times. I'm sure Yuki has had better days. I mean to have to bring up Ray Lucas, ride a pink banana bike, catch a sword by the blade, all while being electrocuted a couple of times. I am starting to think that the scenes are getting a little too dark even if it is night. I think I might lighten it up a bit for the next strip. I mean I did some pretty good work today and I think you can't really see it too well because of the darkness. Oh well. SSDD. Anyway Rob feels that Kelly is due for the classic anime "backhand get-the-hell-out-of-my-way-you-annoyance bitch slap". Anyone who's watched anime knows what he's talking about. It's a classic device used in just about every anime. The bad guy gets interrupted from killing or beating the main hero, but the hero gets saved by a secondary hero. the secondary hero forgets about the bad guy. the said bad guy then pops up behind them and gives them the aforementioned backhand pimp slap which sends would be savior flying, preferably through something i.e. building, rocks, ground, walls, etc. Maybe he's right. You'll just have to come back and find out. Although it would be kind of disturbing to see everyone comes rushing back to see if Lord Hawk lays the smackdown against a girl. Then again there was that whole slamball incident. Good times.
