"Hannibal Smith would be proud" Sunday - September 21st, 2003 Just who is Hannibal Smith and what is up with that comic title you ask? I say ahhhh... young grasshopper did not grow up during the 80's and bear witness to the one of the greatest TV shows and theme songs of all time. Look it up young one, and you will gain much knowledge. In other news, I happen to have a pet hedgehog that The Kelly had kindly given to me for Christmas last year. I resisted the time honored name of Spike or Sonic in favor of something a tad bit more clever and named him Hedgewig in a play on Hedwig from Harry Potter. Hell, nowadays whenever I read a Potter book I find myself saying Hedgewig in my head when I read Hedwig. Sounds better in my opinion. What I did want to write about is that poor Hedgewig had not been feeling well recently. He had developed a bit of a rash and I had to bring him to the vet on Saturday. Turns out Hedgewig had mange and was infested with mites. The vet had scraped off some skin from hedgewig's ear and looked at it under a microscope. He let me and The Kelly take a look and I while I found it fascinating, it was definitely rather disturbing. They look like translucent crabs. Very not good times. The doctor then gave Hedgewig a shot in the cheek and gave us two more hypos to give Hedgewig orally in the upcoming weeks. Back to Ninja Spirit... as you might have noticed, the site has been changed ever so slightly to make everything not so out of whack and clash as was suggested by one of you faithful readers. I had been meaning to change it for weeks, but as you can tell I have no time for anything. I also cleaned up the icons in the menu on the left. They had flecks of white on their border and that had been a continuing source of annoyance for me. I think the site looks a bit better though so I thank Ash for her suggestions. As for Spirit 53, it's filled with action is all I can say. I realize it's tough when there really isn't a joke and the action is starting to become a little more intense. Makes reading a little disjointed and I hope you all bear with me. I'd love to update more, but I want to keep it at a level I can maintain and not have to skip comics here and there. Going back to last week though, Rob pointed out that Panel 3 looked a little suspect and I had to agree with him. Lord Hawk looks like he floats in the panel and I think the lack of shadows cast by him and blending issues were the cause of it. I'll try and keep those to a minimum. Not much to say about this today's comic though. Joe's participation in baseball intramurals looks like it paid off though didn't it?
