"The Great NY State Fair" Sunday - August 24th, 2003

I am exhausted people. I worked OT on Thursday and then went straight tot he fair after work. I didn't get home till midnight. Woke up, went to work for another 8 hours and then went straight back to the fair till midnight again. Then on Saturday I worked a nine hour day, only to go to the Fair till it ended. On Sunday I had no work, but I went to the Fair as soon as I woke up at 11:00 AM. Then I got home at around 11:00 PM and worked on this comic till about 5 in the morning. Which brings me to right here and now. I am so very tired.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love The Fair. Even if you don't know me, I'm sure the paragraph above gives you a glimmer of my dedication to the Fair. I don't really know why I love it so much, but I do. I love the food and I love seeing everything that the fair has to offer. There's all the animals, the various buildings, and of course tons of different kinds of food.

It's also huge in scale. It easily takes about half an hour of straight walking to get from one end to the other. There are numerous buildings, a grandstand, midway, a second stage area, and too many vendors and eateries to even name.

I enjoy my time at the Fair.

It does leave me somewhat the worse for wear though so I think I'll stop waxing ecstatic about it and move on to the comic. How much do I love the way Panel 1 came out? So much that I dare say it's the best panel I've done so far. Everything about it works. It may not be great, but it's the best I've done so far. The rest of the panels weren't slouches either. Which brings to mind that I should draw while under pressure and no energy more often if I'm going to draw like this.

The script is a little on the weak side, but at least it's moving things forward. Expect this comic to be a bit of a cliffhanger though as the month ends with a slight change of pace. I can't say much more without revealing things. Do you think Joe is dead? Maybe you'll find out on Thursday!! Get ready cause things are going to kick up as we head to the big 50!!!!!!

River is exhausted.
