"Version 1.5" Sunday - August 3rd, 2003

Here we are in Month 6 my friends. by the end of this month we will have reached Ninja Spirit going on for half a year. It's pretty exciting... well at least to me it is. As you can probably see, the site design has changed a bit. Not something fully drastic to warrant the version 2 of the Ninja Spirit page, but enough done to warrant the good ole point five. I really struggled with what to do and went through at least two other designs before I came up with this bad boy.

I really blame Rob at work for this because he got me started on the whole logo redesign thing after I saw a logo he had designed last week. (Which was an amazing AND ingenious piece of work I should add). I'll throw a link up if I get permission from the man himself.

However I really ended up with a logo that I didn't think fit very well so then I had to go and redo the title and menu areas of this webpage. I love the new buttons for the menu though. I did come up with the designs myself in a matter of an hour. They all represent something, but you'll just have to wait and find out what.

I also felt that the top title bar lacked something so I added that little piece of coding work to make the Ninja Spirit characters pop in and say hi. I think it came out looking pretty good. if you can't see anything then you probably have an older version of IE or Netscape. I pity the fool who don't have the new versions. jibba jabba.

As can be guessed, I didn't do much this weekend besides work on this webpage and watch a little TV. I was going to go to the movies on Saturday night with The Kelly, but she ended up buying these Hitchcock 5 movie packs at Media Play. Five movies for 11 bucks each. You can't beat that price for the Master of Suspense!!

We watched the first two movies which were The Lady Vanishes and Sabotage. While Sabotage was kinda ho hum in my book, I thought the Lady Vanishes was an EXCELLENT movie. It was almost a romantic comedy if not for the Hitchcock element that made you think "now, this is pretty f'ed up". Almost all of his good ones have it at one point or another. In fact, I'm thinking Sabotage wasn't that great because it lacked that Hitchcock Element.

So we still have 8 movies left. I'll let you know what I think of the rest of them as we watch them.

I also watched Instinct with Anthony Hopkins and Cooba Gooding jr tonight. It was okay. Though nowadays when I watch any movie that takes place in a prison and entails some sort of jail break, it gets compared to the great Shawshank Redemption. While Instinct was decent, it was definitely no Shawshank. Wasn't in even in the same league.

Now to talk about the comic. Spirit 41 kicks off month 6 of Ninja Spirit (note to self, stop typing Fighting instead of ninja!!!!). I think today's comic came out fairly well. I always tend to draw lord Hawk well though so I guess I shouldn't be too happy. Hopefully most of you were able to catch the first ever animated panel of Ninja Spirit in Panel 3 of this comic. Maybe if it looks okay after the initial excitement wears off, I'll do it again in the future.

I think Lord Hawk pretty much lets the cat out of the bag in this one about the sad state of affairs Joe has found himself in, but like Yuki most of you probably do not believe that our least favorite Italian has gone off to the big bowl of ravioli in the sky. We'll just have to wait and see if you and Misaki are proven right.

My last thought? The title was totally weak.

River is all about Version 1.5!!
