| Wednesday - May 28th, 2003 Happy Birthday to my brother Tom, the Diceman!!!! Yes, his birthday is technically tomorrow, but congrats nonetheless. It's weird having relatives with birthdays so close to each other. In my fam's case, my mom has her birthday on the 22nd of May. then a week later it's my brother's birthday. Then on the 22nd of JUNE, it's my birthday. What's this all mean? Just that my dad gets shafted because his birthday is in like October and not in the Family birthday season. Ergo we forget about his birthday on a yearly basis. I'm not feeling too well right now. I feel like I have a cold or something. It sucks. I really wanted to write further on the Matrix Reloaded and in detail why I think it's a good movie and that people who say it was a crappy movie need to get their heads out of their asses. I don't disagree that you may not have liked the movie. However to call this movie crappy on basis of dislike is unjust. The story is top notch and deep. The only selling out they did was to placate the people who went to the movie wanting nothing but to be entertained. On a side note about the special effects, did people expect the red sea to part on the screen? The same people who blasted Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within are the same people griping about the god damn FX in Reloaded. I don't know about you, but I don't think I've seen another movie do the whole 360 degrees, stop motion, to such an impressive degree. It doesn't look real? Some people thought the whole Burly Fight sequence was CG'd. Not the case. Certified real Keanu through almost 90% of the shots. 12 Stunt Doubles of Agent Smith. Wires and pulleys to launch actors tens of feet into the air and into walls. Months of training to film one 5 minute scene. Tainted now for the addition of a few CG FX according to some. Hell, let's just give up on the technology then. I can only look at Square's movie animation studios sitting untouched because FF Spirits Within bombed and think sadly about what Matrix and Final Flight of the Osiris could've been had people given the technology a chance to grow. Rome wasn't built in a day. I will not go on about this though. (Although I already did) Ultimately a person is entitled to their opinions. I just have problems when people start saying well this was a bit off or Col Sanders was stupid. Hell I have complaints too. The whole Mardi Gras orgy on Zion Bourbon street was unneeded. Neo's fight in the castle was redundant, but I realize that on a whole the movie was solid. The Wachowski brothers made a good movie nothing more, nothing less. Oh and F the people who didn't like it because they were too smart for the movie. I heard enough "it's sooo easy to figure out" and "it's soooooo philosophy 101" to make me sick. These pretentious jack asses are the worst. I will stop talking about the Matrix. How about I talk about Spirit 22 instead? We're heading into the last week of month 3 and we reveal a new character!! Key Lime Pitrowski is a character I almost came close to cutting a couple of times in my head, but in the end I liked her enough to keep her. Though she won't be a major character, you can expect her to show up from time to time. I liked how well the first half of the comic looks. Sort of a panoramic style shot. Spice things up. I figure I'll throw them in here and there to keep things interesting. The running gag from earlier in the week continues. Just to let anyone who didn't get it know, the whole naked bounty hunters was a reference to the Clerks cartoon. I think the joke works on its own, but I want to make sure that I don't claim credit for such a great line as naked bounty hunters. Maybe it isn't even that great. Oh and for the record, I did not play neither naked bounty hunter or naked Batman and Robin with Joe when we were in high school. Though Joe begged quite a few times.
