Not that I'm a Syracuse fan (I'm pro U Conn), but being that I do live in Syracuse and that they are representing the Big East, you had to cheer for them. Plus this place bleeds orange for crying out loud. If the school wasn't here this place would be like Binghamton and we don't want to go there.

So on this night in which it still snows here in Syracuse, the fans are out in force. At least there's no havoc, just what small bonfires people could make in this freezing hellhole. And trust me with the cold, I wouldn't blame the cops for wanting to rub their hands in it as well.

So I have to say I'm pretty happy with the win. Hell of a block at the end of the game huh? I don't know about you, but I never seen a block come out of nowhere like that before.

So anyway enough about Syracuse.

What about those Giants eh? I'm talking San Fran baby. I only hold true allegiance to two pro teams. When it comes to the San Fran Giants and the LA Kings, I'm willing to give up like my left testicle to have them win a championship. And I don't even want to talk about the World Series. Fuck me Freddy if I didn't want to kill monkeys for a living afterwards. Still this year shows promise. I hope.

So enough about sports.

Spirit 8 closes out the first month of Ninja Spirit and I couldn't think of a better strip to end the month with really. It's my favorite strip of the 8 so far in terms of everything. Panel 2 was a bit flat when I first made it and that's when I started trying to add more depth work into the backgrounds. The result can be seen in the finished work of panel 4. It was just a green background before I added in the rest. I probably could've gotten away with no background with B+W, but with color it just doesn't cut it.

Anyway here's to a great first month doing a web comic and to a couple more to come.

River feels psyched!
