Comic for Sunday March 16th, 2003

Ninja Spirit is officially online!!! Took a lot of work, but I am quite pleased with the initial layout of the page. I like the Kawasaki setting page especially. I have a rough sketch of Kawasaki High School that I will post as soon as I scan it in. 

Now for the pilot comic strip. I'm not very psyched about the thing. I think it's a little on the been there done that scene, but it sets the tone for Misaki. I've already had to do a few rewrites to the script because I realized that he didn't stay in character a few times. Honestly I really think the reason why I'm not overly happy with the pilot is because I'm working on Strip 10 right now and when I look at it without the dialogue, it just looks plain funny. Oh well hopefully things just continue to get better.

Okay so the tale begins already. I thought for sure this website would be up and the comic would be a green light by the 1st of this month. I hope it pays off because I am putting a stop to my much beloved online game to continue this project. I have high hopes for it really. Everything seems to just flow just right. Right now I have the first 6 strips drawn and inked. Working on number 7 as we speak. As for the website, the Japanese scroll motif for the comic seems to look pretty good.

I made a couple of t shirts based off the initial drawing I did of the main characters of the this comic. Kelly and Dave enjoyed theirs... maybe as time comes along I'll make them up for the public. 

Oh and in case you didn't know, Kelly is doing the coloring work for the comic. She's doing a great job cause otherwise this thing would be so black and white because of time constraints it wouldn't be funny.

Work begins on the Ninja Spirit comic and  web page. Initial web design as well as the first month and a half of scripts have been finished.
